Communication is central to building relationships of any kind and is the life force of great culture. This thought-provoking training will present communication and culture in ways you have never thought about them.

Positive Interaction 8am-12pm

Transforming Culture 1pm-5pm

Participants may choose to attend both sessions or only one.

You will learn:

  • Strategies and tactics for influencing the direction of a conversation

  • 4 personality types and how to communicate with them

  • What culture really is and what great culture looks like

  • The surprising role of storytelling in culture

  • How positive interaction is central to great culture

This class is being hosted by the Shawnee Police Department, the Department of Emergency Services, ECC; and the Overland Park Police Department.


MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Joe Serio, Ph.D. is a popular and entertaining trainer who delivers insightful and thought- provoking material. His content is rich in practical, proven techniques for effective communication with a wide variety of personality types.

His communication skills have been honed in a wide variety of settings, including growing up in a large family, driving a taxi in New York, investigating the Russian mafia in Moscow, living in China, and working in government agencies.

Training will be held at the Lenexa Police Department Community Room at 17371 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66219.
